Biodiesel dimanfaatkan untuk menggantikan peran energi fosil yang tidak dapat terbarukan dan meninggalkan lebih banyak emisi Gas Rumah Kaca sehingga menurunkan kualitas lingkungan.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Saat ini, sudah banyak sektor yang memanfaatkan biodiesel. Berdasarkan Peraturan Menteri No. 12 Tahun 2015 tentang Perubahan Ketiga Atas Peraturan Menteri Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral No. 32 Tahun 2008 tentang Penyediaan, Pemanfaatan, dan Tata Niaga Bahan Bakar Nabati (Biofuel) Sebagai Bahan Bakar Lain, jenis sektor di Indonesia yang wajib menerapkan biodiesel adalah:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Usaha mikro<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Usaha perikanan<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Usaha pertanian<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Transportasi dan pelayanan umum\/PSO (Public Service Obligation)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Transportasi non PSO<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pembangkit listrik<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Industri<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Komersial<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hingga saat ini, program <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">mandatory <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">B30 masih terus dilakukan. Kedelapan sektor di atas wajib mengimplementasikan penggunaan biodiesel dengan campuran 30% <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fatty Acid Methyl Ester (<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">FAME)<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> dan 70% diesel dalam aktivitas kesehariannya. Biodiesel berperan sebagai bahan bakar alternatif pengganti diesel untuk berbagai keperluan transportasi dan energi (misalnya pada pembangkit listrik atau mesin pemanas).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Apakah biodiesel aman digunakan setiap hari?\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Biodiesel adalah bahan bakar yang berasal dari minyak tumbuhan atau hewan, jadi tentu saja ramah lingkungan dan aman digunakan setiap hari karena menghasilkan emisi yang jauh lebih sedikit dibandingkan bahan bakar fosil. Selama tahun 2020, biodiesel berhasil mengurangi emisi Gas Rumah Kaca sebanyak 22,46 juta ton dan berkontribusi besar dalam peningkatan kualitas lingkungan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Apakah tidak akan habis jika digunakan terus setiap hari?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Berbeda dengan bahan bakar fosil, seperti minyak bumi, batu bara, dan gas alam yang suatu saat akan habis dan tidak bisa diperbarui, biodiesel berasal dari bahan baku yang terbarukan. Saat ini, bahan baku utama biodiesel adalah minyak sawit yang berasal dari tanaman kelapa sawit. Indonesia memiliki perkebunan sawit yang melimpah dan tersebar dari Sabang sampai Merauke.
