Hingga saat ini, minyak sawit dikenal sebagai bahan baku biofuels paling baik karena memiliki sifat yang mirip dengan petrodiesel, namun mampu menghasilkan residu karbon yang jauh lebih sedikit sehingga mengurangi penumpukan karbon di mesin diesel dibandingkan minyak solar biasa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ada banyak keuntungan menggunakan minyak sawit sebagai bahan baku produksi biofuels. Tidak seperti bahan bakar fosil, pembakaran biofuels minyak sawit tidak meningkatkan kadar karbon dioksida di atmosfer karena hanya mengembalikan karbon dioksida yang diperoleh sebelumnya dari atmosfer melalui proses fotosintesis. Dengan demikian, biofuels bisa dianggap karbon netral. Pohon kelapa sawit sendiri dapat terus menyerap karbon dioksida sepanjang rentang hidupnya dengan kisaran 25-30 tahun. Oleh karena itu, penanaman pohon kelapa sawit merupakan faktor penyumbang yang signifikan dalam mengurangi pemanasan global.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pada tahun 2018, pemerintah Indonesia menyetujui peraturan tentang penggunaan biodiesel sebagai pengganti bahan bakar fosil di semua sektor ekonomi. Peraturan pemerintah mengharuskan kita untuk mencampur 30% biodiesel dengan 70% bahan bakar fosil. Program B30 ini terbukti berdampak positif terhadap sektor ekonomi, sosial dan lingkungan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Selain itu, minyak sawit adalah minyak nabati yang paling serbaguna karena banyak digunakan di berbagai industri.
