Sudah saatnya kita beralih ke energi yang lebih bersih dan berkelanjutan, bukan hanya karena tingkat polusi yang tinggi, tetapi juga untuk membantu dalam penekanan laju impor Bahan Bakar Minyak (BBM).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sebenarnya, Indonesia sangat berpotensi dalam menghasilkan energi alternatif karena memiliki cadangan besar energi panas bumi, energi matahari, energi angin, arus laut, biomassa, dan biofuels. Indonesia kaya akan minyak sawit sebagai sumber bahan bakar nabati terbarukan. Oleh karena itu, Kementerian Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral Indonesia (ESDM) sudah mulai melakukan pengujian minyak sawit mentah untuk digunakan pada pembangkit listrik berbahan bakar diesel sejak tahun lalu. Penelitian ini dipimpin oleh Badan Litbang ESDM dan dilaksanakan oleh Pusat Penelitian dan Pengembangan Teknologi Ketenagalistrikan, Energi Baru, Terbarukan dan Konservasi Energi (P3TKEBTKE).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kepala P3TKEBTKE, Chrisnawan Anditya, mengatakan bahwa penggunaan minyak bumi untuk sumber tenaga pembangkit listrik masih sangat tinggi sehingga membutuhkan bahan bakar nonkonvensional sebagai pengganti yang lebih ramah lingkungan. Perusahaan listrik milik negara, PT PLN, mengonsumsi lebih dari empat juta kiloliter minyak bumi pada tahun 2018. Penggunaan minyak bumi sebagai bahan bakar yang digunakan pada pembangkit listrik diesel ini menyebabkan biaya operasional membengkak. Namun, pembangkit listrik berbahan bakar diesel masih dibutuhkan di Indonesia, terutama sebagai sumber listrik utama di daerah terpencil. Saat ini, pemerintah Indonesia telah mengurangi penggunaan minyak bumi di pembangkit listrik dengan mengoperasikan pembangkit listrik berbahan bakar energi baru terbarukan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Indonesia memiliki banyak potensi untuk beralih dari penggunaan minyak bumi dengan CPO. Jika 50% pembangkit listrik atau lebih dari 2.000 pembangkit berbahan bakar diesel diubah menjadi berbahan bakar CPO, maka PT PLN dapat menekan biaya bahan bakar yang harus dikeluarkan secara signifikan.
