Industri biofuel memiliki potensi besar untuk berkontribusi terhadap ekonomi nasional Indonesia. Terutama dengan posisi negara ini sebagai salah satu pemasok minyak sawit terbesar di dunia. Vice Chairman Research &amp; Technology Asosiasi Produsen Biofuel Indonesia (APROBI), Jummy BM Sinaga, menyampaikan bahwa peluang industri biofuel sangat signifikan dalam mendukung perekonomian Indonesia. Saat ini, Indonesia berperan sebagai penyedia 21% dari pasokan minyak nabati dunia, terutama melalui minyak sawit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Menurut Jummy, kapasitas terpasang untuk produksi biodiesel di Indonesia mencapai sekitar 20 juta kiloliter per tahun. Angka ini menunjukkan bahwa Indonesia masih memiliki kemampuan untuk meningkatkan persentase campuran biodiesel dalam bahan bakar hingga 40% (B40). Pencampuran saat ini sedang dilakukan secara bertahap. Pada saat ini, program B35 sudah berhasil diimplementasikan, dan uji coba untuk program B40 sedang berlangsung.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Menyambut B40 di Tahun 2025<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Proses uji coba B40 telah berhasil dilakukan pada sektor otomotif. Saat ini uji coba juga dilakukan pada sektor non-otomotif, termasuk kereta api, alat berat di sektor pertambangan, pembangkit listrik, dan mesin pertanian. Jummy menambahkan bahwa jika uji coba B40 berjalan dengan lancar dan selesai pada akhir tahun 2024. Sedangkan implementasi penuh program B40 kemungkinan dapat dimulai pada tahun 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Iman Kartolaksono, pengajar dari Institut Teknologi Bandung dan Universitas Pertamina, juga menyoroti perjalanan panjang riset biofuel dari skala laboratorium hingga akhirnya berhasil diimplementasikan dalam program B30 pada tahun 2020. B30 adalah campuran 30% biodiesel dengan 70% bahan bakar solar. Selain itu, pengembangan Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) atau Biovatur juga menjadi salah satu fokus dalam pengembangan biofuel di Indonesia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yohanes Handoko Aryanto dari Pertamina Energy Institute menambahkan bahwa kajian mengenai peran biofuel sangat penting. Biofuel menyeimbangkan pertumbuhan ekonomi dan upaya dekarbonisasi sektor transportasi. Dia menekankan bahwa transisi energi yang sedang berlangsung memerlukan peta jalan inovasi untuk meningkatkan keekonomian biofuel dan mendorong terobosan teknologi yang akan mempercepat adopsi energi terbarukan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dengan peluang besar ini, industri biofuel di Indonesia tidak hanya dapat memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap perekonomian nasional. Bahkan berperan penting dalam mendukung transisi energi yang lebih bersih dan berkelanjutan.
