Bioetanol dipandang sebagai kunci ganda untuk menekan impor BBM. Selain itu, menjadi instrumen vital dalam mengurangi emisi karbon di sektor transportasi, demi mencapai kemandirian energi nasional.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meskipun memiliki rekam jejak panjang sejak Instruksi Presiden Nomor 1 Tahun 2006, yang mendorong penggunaan Bahan Bakar Nabati (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Biofuel<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), implementasi bioetanol sempat mengalami pasang surut. Namun, kini ia kembali mendapatkan momentum penting.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Pertamax Green dan Kualitas Udara<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kebutuhan akan bahan bakar dengan oktan tinggi (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">High Octane Mogas Component<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\/HOMC) di Indonesia terus meningkat seiring tingginya pertumbuhan kendaraan bermotor. Bioetanol menawarkan solusi yang menguntungkan dari dua sisi:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Performa Mesin: Etanol memiliki angka oktan (RON) tinggi (sekitar 128). Ketika dicampurkan dengan bensin dasar (seperti pada Pertamax Green 95 dengan campuran 5% bioetanol atau E5), ia secara langsung meningkatkan kualitas pembakaran mesin, menjadikannya lebih responsif dan efisien.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lingkungan: Pencampuran bioetanol secara langsung menurunkan emisi gas berbahaya seperti karbon monoksida, mendukung upaya perbaikan kualitas udara dan penurunan emisi GRK.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pertamina telah meluncurkan produk Pertamax Green 95, yang bersumber dari molases tebu, sebagai langkah konkret menuju target E10 di masa depan dan bagian dari peta jalan besar menuju <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Net Zero Emission<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (NZE) 2060.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Tantangan <\/b><b><i>Feedstock<\/i><\/b><b> dan Inovasi Teknologi<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Potensi agraris Indonesia, khususnya tanaman penghasil gula dan pati seperti tebu, singkong, dan jagung, menjadi bahan baku utama bioetanol generasi pertama. Secara fundamental, bioetanol dihasilkan dari fermentasi gula yang kompleks, diawali dari pra-perlakuan bahan baku hingga fermentasi oleh ragi.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Namun, tantangan terbesar terletak pada ketersediaan bahan baku yang berkelanjutan (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">feedstock security<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">). Pemerintah harus memastikan peningkatan produksi bioetanol dari tebu tidak mengganggu stok gula untuk kebutuhan pangan nasional (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">food security<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Oleh karena itu, penguasaan teknologi menjadi kunci. Terdapat dorongan global untuk beralih ke teknologi bioetanol generasi kedua. Yang memungkinkan penggunaan limbah pertanian seperti jerami atau biomassa lignoselulosa (seperti limbah kayu) yang tidak bersaing dengan bahan pangan. Teknologi ini dinilai jauh lebih ramah lingkungan dan berkelanjutan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sinergi antara Kementerian ESDM, Kementerian Pertanian, dan BUMN menjadi mutlak diperlukan. Langkah-langkah seperti ekstensifikasi lahan tebu dan diversifikasi sumber bahan baku harus dilakukan secara konsisten.
